Exterior woodwork including garden furniture, gates & planters - Isle of Wight

A percentage of my work as a carpenter and joiner involves the development and build of garden features & structures such as small timber decks and steps, gates, garden furniture, planters as well as general repairs to sheds These jobs tend to be small to medium in size and like a lot of my other work, I am generally involved with the client from the outset, talking through the design/build options before fixing on the finished scheme. I am also happy to collaborate or work under the direction of a landscape designer/gardener. Wood is not the only material I work with however, and although not a specialist, I also work with bricks and slabs with the odd small shuttering job thrown in for good measure.

Follow your dream - down the garden path

The pleasure of a garden project is to let your imagination run riot ... it's not just life's practicalities that matter. If you have a small space you could always build upwards to create a space-saving herb garden - like the example in the gallery. If your lawn feels too big, then some clever planning could create intimate areas for quiet contemplation, somewhere to soak up the sun, or simply a place for kids to play. Whatever the size of your garden you can increase its value in your daily life - cunningly disguised storage, custom planting features all have a serious role to play. I can help you visualise the potential that's right outside your door. "If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need." - Marcus Tullius Cicero.

I haven't yet built a library in a garden but there's a first time for everything!
